No Interest Loans Scheme (“NILS”) - Wellsprings for Women Inc. Wellsprings for Women Inc. is located in Dandenong, Victoria and is a project of the Presentation Sisters Victoria. The centre was opened in 1996, originally for one day a week as a drop in centre. A large number of Refugee & Asylum seeker families have now moved into this area, this has seen the drop in centre progress to opening 5 days per week catering for around 600 attendees per month from over 55 countries. A No Interest Loan Scheme (“NILS”) has been operating since 2003 with a capital base of less than $5,000. This project provides a “top up” for the scheme in order to meet the increased demand for loans to families. |
