Involving the Homeless - Providing Opportunities

The Homeless Peoples Association, established in 2001 is a community organisation formed and managed by people who are or who have experienced homelessness.
Involving the Homeless - Providing Opportunities has 2 elements:

• The Membership Program aims to build membership among homeless people from
  across the organisations in Fitzroy and Melbourne. There will be an increased effort
  to recruit new members and to actively engage and facilitate their participation in the
  decisions and concerns regarding their welfare in formal or informal training activities
  provided by HPA.
• The Skill Development Program aims to increase involvement and coach new and
  existing HPA members in the daily and regular workings of HPA. They will be able
  to participate and make contributions at forums, events etc and at the same time
  develop their confidence, self esteem and sense of worth.
