Services - "Micro-Credit Project"
In 2003, Kildonan Child and Family services and Women's Health in the North piloted a Micro Credit Project - targeting women in the Whittlesea area who were newly arrived and from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The pilot was very successful helping newly arrived migrants to establish their own business and thereby establish themselves in the communities in which they now live. Funding for the program was depleted and a grant of $15,000 was funded by the Mary Potter Trust Foundation to contribute to cover the costs of distributing more small loans to newly arrived, isolated and low income people and help manage the program. << back to Previous Grants listing
